What’s Worse Than the End of the World? One Man is About to Find Out.

Frank just wants to hunt monsters in peace. He’s good at it and prefers to kill evil creatures alone. But when the power suddenly goes out, blazing rocks fall from the sky, and a stranded girl is thrust into his life, everything changes.

Now Frank finds himself tasked with defending a girl whose feistiness may prove more than a match for his hard edges. Even worse, his new companion is being hunted by a new threat — a monster Frank has never encountered… and may be unable to kill.

Can Frank survive a world-ending cataclysm, defeat unkillable monsters, and keep his companion safe from the creatures and herself, or will it all end in fire?

To listen to this book will indeed make you gasp. In an apocalyptic setting, the interesting and complex dynamic between the two main characters is a compelling core around which are set monsters and badly behaved humans. The motif of protection and resourcefulness at the world's end is reminiscent of Cormac McCarthy's THE ROAD. The narration adds a level of drama, intensity and pathos that elevates this from reading the book to EXPERIENCING the book! With all his skillful voices and acting, it is more like listening to a radio play than merely hearing a book read.

The dramatic reading transforms this book into an exciting radio play kind of listen.
