Christian Thornton keeps losing his betrothed. The ladies have heard a terrible rumor and flee so the last thing he needs is a vexing future girl showing up at Winterforth. Ashley is high-strung, stressed out, and lost without her ever present phone. The thought of being disconnected makes her break out in hives. For someone who always needs to know what time it is, waking up in medieval England just won’t do.

I loved the story, but….

The story was really fun. As in the previous books a present day woman goes to the past. Ashley is pretty typical for a woman of today. I love how meeting Christian gas her realizing she had lived a life to that point devoid of true joy, real happiness.

As much as I enjoyed the story I lost what was happening a few times. Due to the AI narration. AI is not able to bring the story to life, and when it messes up it’s even more frustrating as the story isn’t being read correctly anyway. It will pronounce words wrong as well as switch character roles. Using a male voice for a woman character & vice versa. I will be checking more closely to ensure I don’t buy another AI audio book.
