I thought I was well-prepared after rotations of studying, research, and inquiries, and I should have been. As I stood next to my brothers, confident I had the knowledge to handle anything thrown at me, I never pictured her, nor the sheer terror that coursed through me as I frantically ripped apart the pod to save her. Now all I ever wanted lies before me, and I am lost. My education and medical expertise are worthless. Her body is so close I can reach out and touch her, but she's far, far away from me, trapped in her mind. In her dreams, she is safe; there are no questions or heartache.
