Really relaxing

This book is great for casual listening when you're not doing anything. It has very soothing music in the background so it's hard to listen to while driving or doing anything that could be bad if you where to fall asleep. I find it to be simular to any book that is marketed as a learn while sleeping/driving book. I often listen to this at night & just leave it on all night. This is definitely not a stand alone book for learning Nihongo, you will need to have other resources & interactions with people who know the language as well.

Easy

I love that it comes with a pdf, I love that they say the word multiple times and even a slow time, and a recap. The background sound makes it pleasant to listen to.

Bang for your buck. Gets your foot in the door

Overall good introduction to Japanese but don’t try to actually listen to it while you sleep. Beautifully sounding native speaker punctuated by a game show host. Would be more relaxing if the native speaker did the English and Japanese narration.

I have been studying Japanese for over a year now, and this audio book has been very helpful. I listened to it many times while going on long walks to expose myself to the vocabulary and useful expressions. After that, I started to listen to this book in bed before falling asleep with a sonos device. I was falling asleep and waking up thinking in japanese, which really helps when learning a language. Thank you for helping me on this journey.

Boring book!!

There are many grammatical explanations, which is excellent, but without a workbook or a means to put what you learn into practise, it's not really a great main resource for your study.
