My daughter and I love this audiobook, as the phrases are hilarious and it is as good for comedy as it is for language lessons. The only thing we wish is that the female french-speaker was a tad slower with her pronounciation. A good medium to medium-high level conversational review.

funny but fast

what a great way to perfect your French! This is a challenging book organized around useful themes (e.g., verb tenses, weather expressions, numbers, etc.). The authors were very clever in putting together examples to illustrate each theme but with enough 'extra' twists in each to make them interesting.

terrific!

I'm finding this very useful. I listen to it on my digital music player while running, and on CDs on my commute to work. This means that I repeat everything relentlessly, but since it's an all-audio system, that's possible.

Occasionally I have to look something up, either on about.com (which has an excellent French site) or in some sort of grammar text, but on the whole, it really is all-audio.

That said, I have the advantage of having worked on learning the language for some time, being married to a native speaker and occasionally visiting my unilingual in-laws. The recording provides a really useful supplement, however, since it allows me to practice parts of speech and structures that don't always come up in conversation, or at least not for five straight minutes.

Very useful

I found this course very useful. It provides plenty of examples of all key verbs and tenses. Hearing these examples teaches and challenges in a way that reading fails to do. Great stuff or should I say magnifique!

The audio is harsh and annoying. I'd learn more if they had a french person scratch their fingernails on a chalkboard.

ACK. Do they really have to speak this way
