Great history of the Clinton years

Very detailed! Comes from a conviction that what has been tried has not worked, but doesn’t feel slanted or polemical.

Excellent analysis of the origins of the current economic environment in the US. Highly recommended for those who desire a thoughtful, complete diagnosis of the problems that we face and solutions to those problems.

Just a critique of New Democrats

Particularly Bill Clinton, but the New Democrats generally, get raked over the coals in this book. It gives good explanations of what they were trying to accomplish, but no credit at all for any successes, just lots of “it failed!”. Book claims that microeconomic approaches to big problems will never work; only the government can “fix” things. Might as well have been written by AOC, given its totally progressive, slanted view.

On another note, the annoying use of words like “proselytize” when “proselyte” is meant doesn’t help any. The narrator is quite good, however.
