Most people think a great life is built on big moments. It isn't.

A great life is built on small decisions made consistently over time. A missed priority here. A neglected relationship there. Too much pressure. Too little margin. Over time, those small choices quietly shape the direction of a life. But there is another way to live.

After decades of leadership, raising a family, and helping people navigate life's biggest decisions, Chris Hodges discovered something that changes everything: The quality of your life is determined by the principles that guide it.

  • Principles simplify decisions.
  • Principles steady you in difficult seasons.
  • Principles help you build a life that lasts.

In Legacy Letters, a practical and deeply personal book, Hodges shares the timeless principles that have shaped his life, leadership, relationships, and legacy. These aren't theories or motivational slogans. They are lessons learned through real life—through mentors, mistakes, family, and decades of walking alongside people through the highs and lows of life.

This book is designed to be read one principle a day for 30 days, giving you a clear framework for building a better life. Then you'll spend the rest of the year putting those principles into practice—because principles are not meant to be memorized, they are meant to be lived.

Inside, you'll discover powerful principles such as:

  • The Big Rocks Principle — start life right by putting first things first
  • The Calendar Principle — take control of your schedule before something else does
  • The Compounding Principle — small daily disciplines create extraordinary results over time
  • The Margin Principle — create breathing room so pressure doesn't control your life
  • The Who Principle — the people around you shape the future ahead of you
  • The Green-Grass Principle — the best relationships are the ones you invest in
  • The Goldmine Principle — learn to see the potential in people
  • The Orchestra Principle — life works better when it's built around “we” instead of
  • The Significance Principle — the greatest life is the one that helps others win

Filled with memorable phrases, practical wisdom, and honest stories from a life of leadership, Legacy Letters will help you:

  • Make wiser decisions
  • Build stronger relationships
  • Create margin and clarity in a crowded world
  • Focus your time on what matters most
  • Leave a legacy that lasts

Because methods change. Trends change. Circumstances change. But principles never do. Live by the right principles, and you won't just succeed. You'll build a life that truly works.

Legacy Letters by Chris Hodges is one of the best books I’ve read from someone who has clearly led well over time it doesn’t feel like theory, it feels lived. He keeps it simple but hits the core areas of life/faith, leadership, relationships, integrity in a way that’s accessible to anyone, even though he closes from a faith perspective. What stood out is that he doesn’t try to over-explain everything; he gives you substance and direction, then leaves space for you to go deeper on your own. It reads broad on purpose, but there’s real weight underneath it if you’re paying attention. @timprattjr

One of the best books ever

I have honestly read a few hundred self-help type books of this nature and they all seem to circle around the seven habits of highly effective people written by Steven Coffee, which is my favorite book on planet Earth.
This book is very much like the seven habits, and the principles contained within the seven habits and a way to go about using them in your daily life. However, I was always looking for a faith based adaptation of the 7 Habits! In my opinion, I just found it!
Well, worth the Reid time and money if you’re looking for a way to improve your life and never look back a lot of the things in this book I do already and I think this is a great book myself!
