Legacy of the Abyss (Starweaver Academy Book 3)

"The sea gives up its secrets reluctantly, but it always demands payment."

The Empire of the Abyss has come for Havenmoor, and Finn Tempest is out of time. Three months ago, he was just a fisherman's son who dreamed of adventure. Now he commands a legendary sentient ship and leads a crew who've become his chosen family. But when dark vessels gather beyond the horizon and corruption spreads like poison through the waters, the academy that gave him everything faces annihilation.

The Tidebreaker's power grows stronger with each battle. So does the Abyss's hunger for Finn's soul. Marina's brilliant navigation guides them through treacherous political waters, even as her feelings for Finn complicate everything. Rowan's humor masks growing fear as enemy ships multiply. Lena sharpens her combat skills, questioning if they're ready for what's coming. And Corin uncovers a devastating truth: the enemy has already infiltrated their ranks. When Cassian Drake's betrayal becomes complete and Havenmoor falls under siege, only the bonds of found family stand against the darkness. But unlocking the Tidebreaker's true power demands a terrible price. The ghostly Abyssal Revenant haunts Finn's nightmares, and his bloodline marks him as either salvation or the key to everyone's destruction.

Some powers are worth any cost, aren't they? Narrated in immersive dual performance by Joshua Story and Katherine Grant-Suttie.

Epic nautical fantasy with found family at its heart. Academy magic meets high-seas warfare. Slow-burn romance that will steal your heart. Political intrigue, impossible choices, and devastating betrayals.

Perfect for fans of Fourth Wing, Red Queen, and Percy Jackson.

Story and clear storytelling, well-organized and structured storyline. Great narration that is easy to listen to and follow. Unlike some stories where it's messy and you have to re-listen to certain parts to fully understand.

loved the characters. I felt their actions and reactions were realistic. personality development was great, and led to me rooting for Finns team! Romance was well done, being built on friendship. the great, good and bad characters were well written, along with actions, reactions, and I was left wanting more at the end. I hope this series isnt done! great job to the author!

I loved this conclusion to the Starweaver Academy collection! The storyline was action packed. So much happened in a short time period. I really enjoyed watching the Tidebreaker officers transform into leaders Connelly did a great job showing young leaders undergoing self discovery and collaborating together. Additionally neither Rowan nor Lena changed their personalities when they became teachers. Each brought their uniqueness to their leadership styles. Their styles were completely different but perfect for their roles. The way Connelly had Rowan interacting with his students impressed me. It was a great model. The lessons on true teamwork empowering each member were impactful too.

Regarding the battle scenes, Connelly gave them just enough detail to be realistic while not making them gruesome. The developing romantic relationships weren't overdone either. I appreciated that they were built on mutual respect and service to each other rather than purely sexual attraction.

I highly recommend this book! I look forward to the Finn and his crew heading to "where it all began" in the next book.

This sequel does not disappoint!!

This is a fantastic continuation of the series and a deeply satisfying finale. It takes everything the first two books built...magic school vibes, high-seas adventure, and raises the stakes. The world feels larger and darker, and the sea practically becomes a character of its own. Finn’s growth is one of the highlights. Watching him go from fisherman’s son to captain facing impossible choices is powerful. Plus, the bonds within his crew feel genuine and heartfelt. The balance between action and emotion is excellent: intense battles, political intrigue, slow-burn romance, and real consequences that hit hard. The twists are smart and tie earlier threads together. Overall, if you liked or loved the series so far...Get This Book!

The story pulled me in pretty quickly, and I liked how the world felt dark, mysterious, and well thought out without being confusing. The characters felt believable, and I found myself actually caring about what happened to them as the plot unfolded. The pacing was solid, with enough twists to keep things interesting, and the narration made it easy to stay engaged for long stretches. If you enjoy fantasy with a darker edge and a sense of discovery, this audiobook is definitely worth checking out.
