Leoshine's mother hustles her into the wilderness of Myxolidia as her father relinquishes his government to invaders. Captured by a lawless tribe of her own people, Leoshine is foisted on the invading leader as a bedwarmer.

The last thing Avram wants is a girl slave, but keeping her close means he can use her as an example of the good he brings. She grows to be an oracle, showing him a better way to rescue Myxolidia from environmental and societal collapse.

Resham arrives home believing in the mission and eager to prove his loyalty to Avram. He is the strained bridge between Avram and Leoshine and his own confused soul.

The details in this riveting story propel one forward and draw the reader into a world of fantasy and adventure. The author is meticulous in painstakingly painting descriptions, thoughts, and emotions of her characters as the fantasy unfolds to reveal new possibilities in the lives of the main characters, Leoshine & Avram, leaving the reader hungry and eager for the next chapter. No details are too small, and every detail paints a necessary picture of this very different world. The story itself is exceptional in creativity, just as the characters are relatable. Magnificently written, I'm eager to read book two!
