Did you know that state universities in Virginia turned away more than 20,00 women in the early 1960s, but not a single man was denied admission? In the 1970s, the University of Georgia men's golf team got all the golf balls they needed, while the women's team was allowed only one per round.

The seeds for Title IX were sown amidst the violent social upheavals of the 1960s. Everyone should read this! Simply Amazing!!

I was born in 1985 and had no idea that Title IX is the reason why I had an opportunity to play every sport my brother played. And the reason why I was able to receive equal scholarships to attend college. Amazing book! This should be required reading in schools. LOVE THIS BOOK! and its story of Equal opportunity for girls in education and sports!!!
