So, how Israel was to live as a holy nation? Leviticus is as important as all the other Bible books because the Levitical sacrificial system is divine revelation. It continues God’s revelation of Himself in Genesis and Exodus. Leviticus is essentially the ‘handbook’ Israel needed to become a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. It is a picture of the seriousness of sanctification, the utter holiness of the LORD, the separation between us and God through sin, and it is a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ.
