Layla hates liars.

Layla and her mother, who also happens to be her best friend, are always totally honest with each other. Not that Layla has anything to lie about, she isn’t an average 19-year-old. She doesn’t go to parties or have boyfriends, or any friends. She lives in a perfect little village where nothing much ever happens. But life doesn’t stay the same forever.

When new neighbors move into the cottage opposite, everything starts to change, including Layla. Shocked and excited by her growing obsession with the new neighbor, Will, and even more so by her own behavior, Layla is beginning to think that maybe she’s not the person she thought she was.

She’s afraid that there's a darkness inside her.

Struggling to understand her own powerful emotions, she’s devastated when she discovers that she’s been lied to. She thinks that nothing can ever shock her again.

Her life is blown wide open by an explosive secret that’s been kept from her for all of her life, and as events begin to spiral out of control, Layla is forced to ask herself.
