When Fitzwilliam Darcy returns to Netherfield with an outrageous proposal, a false courtship to protect his sister's future, Elizabeth Bennet is certain he has lost his senses. As the stakes escalate and hearts become entangled, they must decide which is more dangerous: continuing their deception or facing the truth of what now exists between them.

Lie, Dreadful Lies, and Courtship is a full length clean Regency romance novel featuring a pretend courtship that tests the boundaries between strategy and sincerity.

Fairly Entertaining

This was an ok JAFF book. Darcy and Elizabeth, despite their less than admirable feelings for each other, team up in a pretend courtship to deflect matchmaking Mrs Bennet and Lady Catherine. Lady Catherine is not about to let her nephew go so easily and threatens to disrupt Georgiana’s debut season in whatever manner she can.

False feelings eventually lead to genuine ones but ODC are trapped in a situation of their own making and don’t know how to disentangle themselves without damaging their own and Georgiana’s reputation. Somehow it all works out.

Interesting book

In this story Darcy is plagued by Lady Catherine and Elizabeth is the same by her mother. Darcy goes back to Netherfield to talk to Elizabeth about a fake engagement. Great Jaff.

Repetitious and Inconsistent

I am convinced this was not only narrated by AI, but also written by AI. Or possibly an 80-20 split, with the bulk of the book written by AI, and the remaining written by a teenage novice. With all the money Audible is saving on narration and writing, they would do well to spend a little bit on editors, specifically a continuity editor and an accuracy editor. The terrible narration may have been easier to bear if the book wasn't riddled with so many inconsistencies and historical inaccuracies.
