"Lightning and Static Charge" is a Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) book. It answers the question "What Is Electricity" through a series of illustrations, stories, science, history, and experiments. This book is a great self-study course for homeschoolers, distance learners, and summer enrichment. It is intended for someone with basic algebra skills who can use a calculator (e.g. age 9 and up).
The book starts out with the basics - lightning and static charge (aka "static electricity"), and then delves into the structure of the atom, conductors, and insulators. Experiments at the end of each chapter insure the reader has mastered the material before moving on to the next topic.

At the end of each chapter and each experiment is a short quiz, which further reinforces the material .
