Review from sALIENt - 5 stars - Unputdownable - "Very different book from the ones I generally read but found once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. The storyline grabs you and you just have to know what happened next. A really good read."

Lights in the Woods: Unravelling the Rendlesham Forest Mystery.

Rendlesham Forest, located in Suffolk, England, is a site of significant interest not only for nature lovers but also for those intrigued by unexplained phenomena. This vast expanse of woodlands, encompassing approximately 5,800 acres, gained international notoriety due to the events that transpired in December 1980, now commonly referred to as the Rendlesham Forest Incident.

The Rendlesham Forest UFO incident, often referred to as "Britain's Roswell," occurred in December 1980 near twin USAF occupied airbases of RAF Woodbridge, and RAF Bentwaters in Suffolk, England. The backdrop of this mysterious event is crucial to understanding its significance. At the time, the Cold War was at its peak, and tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union were palpable and it has since become pretty much open knowledge that at the time, the base house the largest number of tactical nuclear weapons in Europe.

The incident involved a series of reported sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) over several nights. The first sighting occurred near RAF Bentwaters, where military personnel observed strange lights in and above the forest. These lights, described as bright, red, blue, white and yellow and looking highly unusual, prompted an investigation by the airmen stationed at the base. The subsequent encounters included a reported sighting of an actual mechanical object, a craft of unknown origin within the forest...

This concise book delves into what happened in Rendlesham Forest during those cold winter nights back in December 1980, the parties involved, what they say they saw, along with an analysis of the original witness statements. The now well-known Halt Memo and his Affidavit are looked at, together with links to various fascinating source materials and podcasts, including the Halt Tape, the contemporaneous Dictaphone recording that Colonel Halt made during the night he went out into the forest to investigate. There is also a link to a podcast which discusses the controversial binary code from Jim Penniston's notebook and how it was decoded.

The mystery surrounding the Rendlesham Forest Incident just keeps getting more complex and intriguing with more information and details emerging as the decades pass... Was alien technology involved? Did aliens indeed land, or could it have been future humans? What secrets are the government still hiding?

Capel Green, a 4 hour docudrama-movie about the events of that night, from the perspective of Airman Larry Warren, is about to be released. Download Lights in the Forest today to get a detailed overview of what happened that cold December night back in 1980.
