Lisa Madrid and the Doomsday Kid

After the decades-long nightmare of chaos and violence resulting from the collapse of global civilization, order is finally restored by the new Mega Cities, the new world governments, who rule with an iron fist. In L.A. Mega, all criminals and undesirables are herded into one contained district—a lawless area in the center of the city called the Zone. They are imprisoned there by the Keepers, a special police unit whose only job is to guard the border around it. They never set foot inside, and no one inside ever comes out.

This is the home of Lisa Madrid, self-appointed protector of the underdog in a city that doesn’t care.

One dark night a young girl appears in the Zone, a feral child who cannot speak. No sooner does she and her companion arrive than they find themselves attacked. Ninjas come out of the darkness at them, their deadly blades in hand. And they are not the only ones that want her. Dead.

What is the secret behind this girl? Why do so many powerful people want her dead? Lisa is as much in the dark as anyone, but once she accidentally gets involved she won't back out. Seeing all the forces lined up against this fourteen year-old girl rubs Lisa the wrong way. The odds are all stacked against the kid, so she decides to even them.

With the help of two friends she takes on the brutal Keepers as well as the Black Lotus ninja, yakuza, and assorted gangsters, all to protect a kid she knows nothing about. Can she overcome such impossible odds? And even if she saves the Kid, what then? Whole governments are afraid of her. Should Lisa be afraid too?
