Am I a murderer? You tell me . . .

You probably already know my name. Lucy Chase, the woman who doesn’t remember murdering her best friend.

Even though they couldn’t find enough evidence to charge me, I know you all think I did it. That’s OK. I realise being found wandering the streets the next day covered in her blood wasn't a great look.

Believe me, I’m as frustrated as you are. I’d love to know if I’m a murderer – it’s the sort of thing you really should know about yourself, isn’t it?

And now, thanks to true-crime podcast Listen for the Lie, I finally have the chance to find out. But will I be able to live with myself if it turns out it was me?

And if it wasn’t, will digging into the secrets of the night I forgot make me the next target of whoever did?

Perfect for fans of HOW TO KILL YOUR FAMILY by Bella Mackie, NONE OF THIS IS TRUE by Lisa Jewell and MURDER IN THE FAMILY by Cara Hunter.

Critic reviews

‘Edgy and scary, thrilling and twisty, laugh-out-loud funny. I loved it!'
'Listen for the Lie is a page-turner from the first sentence to the very last. In addition to being a world-class whodunit, full of carefully doled-out twists, Lucy is a terrific character, feisty and funny and, it turns out, brave as hell. It's great fun. Readers will rip through this one.'
'Amy Tintera's highly compelling voice grips you from the opening line and won't let you go. Listen For the Lie is an extremely successful high-wire act, balancing between dark comedy and darker thrills. A delight from start to finish.'
Razor-sharp, original and highly entertaining. Lots of twisty, pitch-black fun in this genuine pageturner.
Amy Tintera gives the fashionable device of podcaster v detective a fresh spin in this scintillating comic noir.
What turns this set-up into scintillating comic noir is Lucy’s narrating voice, which is as smart and sardonic about her own words and thoughts as it is about her relatives, former bedmates and other interviewees.
A brilliantly dark subversive romp.
It's a page-turner you'll absolutely race through.
Readers will be hard-pressed not to wolf down this intelligent page-turner in a single sitting.
‘Smart, surprising and very funny - wickedly entertaining.’

I love this audio book. I haven’t found a book this gripping since high school. I finished in 1 day while cleaning the house. I went out for the afternoon and couldn’t wait for home time to pick up where I left off, I stayed up very late to finish I was sooo hooked.
This is probably my 6th Audio book.
I physically read a lot of WW2 books, since joining Audible I’ve branched out into different genres. The first few a listened to were more sci-fi, self help, romance etc but after reading this I may have found a new favourite genre!!!
Story line is so damn gripping, high recommend!
Also love that the chapters are small!

Loved the pace of this book. It kept me interested from the first chapter and I was up nights listening to it. I loved how it kept me guessing as to who did it. I definitely didn’t see the end coming at all!! Lots of great twists and I loved Lucy’s dark sense of humour throughout! Highly recommend this book.
