When a young woman shows up dead in Campus Creek, amateur sleuth Pepper Brooks is warned not to get involved. She's fine with that. It's her final quarter of college, and she's immersed in Hemingway and planning her future. Plus, things are already complicated enough trying to figure out where everything stands with Alex, her maybe-boyfriend.

But when two more fair-haired women show up drowned, Pepper literally can't stay away. Especially when her best friend may be the next one For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Listeners, this is the second book in a literary-themed cozy series. If you ever feel inclined to quote classic literature, sniff books when no one is looking, and think dogs are a girl's best friend - right up there with a good book - you're going to love Pepper and her Pine Crest friends. And if Hemingway's not your jam, no worries, each book features a different classic author. ;) Happy listening!

It's Pepper's last year as an undergrad and she really hopes to never see a murdered corpse ever again. No such luck. Her cop friend and his detective father don't want her investigating but her other friends (and a painfully shy new one) insist that she can find out more than the authorities can because the victim(s) are also students at their university. Let the sleuthing begin! Good read!
Michella Ames is a rock star in her audio interpretation.

I am loving the cozy mysteries written by Eryn Scott that I have read/listened too. The narrator Michelle Ames is new to me and I enjoyed her performance as she brought this cozy mystery to life for me. One of the unusual and most enjoyable things about this book was the literary references which I found highly entertaining as Pepper sifted through the clues and jumped to conclusions.

This was a a book filled with enough danger, suspense secrets and clues to satisfy my detective spirit. The intrigue and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat as I listened to this story, .

There are several twists, turns and surprises in Literally Murder as Pepper, Olivia and Alex follow the clues and I have to say that I was taken by surprise on a couple of occasions. .

I am enjoying these stories and look forward to listening to more once available. Pepper has grown on me although her constant accusations of guilt and jumping to conclusions do at times frustrate me and make me want to rip my hair out.

Great cozy! 2nd in the series but would work great as a stand alone. Love the evolution of the characters and can’t wait to see where they go next. I was guessing until the very end!
