Young Cedric Errol lives in poverty in New York with his mother. When his father, who was disinherited for marrying an American, dies, Cedric is summoned to his grandfather's English estate. While the crotchety old Earl planned to transform the boy into a docile, traditional lording, it is Little Lord Fauntleroy who does the converting. Through his goodness and innocence, he wins the hearts of his English relatives who welcome his mother with open arms, and he teaches the Earl some valuable lessons about the true meaning of nobility.

This classic tale embodies the author's belief that "Nothing in the world is so strong as a kind heart".

I love to re-read the gentle stories of France's Hodgson Burnett and Louisa Mae Alcott. They address problems of the day, but the characters are true and strong in their faith and the language is clean.

A true classic

The publisher’s summary does a good job of describing the story, so I will only add that this is an excellent book for all ages.

Louis M’s, term, “Uplifting” is the best one word summary of this story. With so many heavy, depressing books and news items surrounding us, it’s nice to escape into a story like this one.

I doubt that there ever was a child as perfect as Cedric Errol, but that’s what makes the story so good.

The narration by Donada Peters is excellent, as is the audio quality.

I have always liked this story. Frances Hodgson Burnett wrote a story that can be just as entertaining to a 4 year old as it is to a 40 year old. The performance left something to be desired, but it was still worth a listen.

GREAT story, performance could have been better.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't anything this sweet and delightful. While the descriptions of Fauntleroy got a bit overwhelming - he certainly seemed some kind of paragon - it was a lovely little uplifting and kind story.
The 9-year old boy and I listened to it to and from school. Every time we arrived at our destination he said, "Noooo!" Which is a good indicator that he was enjoying the story.
The reader was absolutely excellent. A very talented voice actress that really brought the story alive.
Highly recommended.

Unexpectedly delightful

The narration is excellent, the book is fantastic! The audio quality is pretty good too. Oh, and watch the movie too. Unlike many audio books you only care to hear once, you can listen to this one over and over and not get tired of it. Very uplifting!

This book rocks no matter how old you are!
