Quincy Harker needs a vacation, but there's no peace to be found in the usually sleepy seaside resort of North Carolina's Outer Banks. No, there's a serial killer stalking the streets of Manteo, and there's even more to the crimes than usual. Add in a heavily warded cemetery with hints of magic long thought to have vanished from the earth, a mystery centuries in the making, and a string of horrifyingly realistic nightmares plaguing Rebecca Flynn, Harker's fiancee, and our boy isn't getting any rest or relaxation. But he is getting the one thing he's really, really good at handling—a fight.

Quincy Harker investigates modern murders and the oldest mystery in United States history all at the same time as he tried to figure out who's killing tourists in Manteo while also investigating the truth behind the Lost Colony in Lost, the ninth book in the Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter series of award-winning dark urban fantasy novels.

I hope there is more in store for QFH

It’s nice Harker has family

To Quincy Harker: “You know, for a superhero, you get knocked out a lot.”
Yes! A fun, mouthy, standalone Harker story. It’s even possible to start here, as we’re provided with recaps of previous adventures throughout.

“Name one good thing that’s ever happened in a crypt.”
And oh, the banter between series regulars! All my favorites gather to help Harker investigate:
Becks, Uncle Luke (aka Dracula), Angel Glory, and demon Faustus.

“Harker’s book of Sh! that shall not stand … including reversing the toilet paper roll…”
Okay, yes, the language and the attitude was pretty thick, especially the F bombs in the first two hours.

“Everybody poops Harker, there’s even a book about it.”
This one’s also thick on the pop culture references. But, it works as self-aware, wicked satire… or merely as a sign of fandom for other books and fantasy tropes. I only regret burning through this so quickly.

Family and Harker’s mouth- what more is there?

Character development was good especially with the reaper. The narrator made sure you knew witch character was speaking.

Great ending to a fantastic series. Best 8 weeks of audio books ever.

I really enjoyed the book overall. My only issue was that the narrator started with an incorrect pronunciation of Manteo and changed to the correct pronunciation after the first few chapters.

Good story line
