Leo Caldwell's Second-Chance Romance

'Love Me Again' is the 5th book in Aiden Bates and Ali Lyda's 'Caldwell Brothers' romance series. This installment focuses on Leo, second-to-youngest Caldwell brother. Leo and Shayne developed a relationship in high school that ended in betrayal and false assumptions. Seven years later Shayne is back in town looking for forgiveness and Leo is not sure he's ready to give that to Shayne. Even with their enduring love, can they work through past hurts to seize their happily ever after?

As with the other book I listened to in this series ('Sweet On You'), Leo's brothers and parents make cameo appearances, but the book is able to stand alone. In addition to the second-chance storyline, there's discussion of Leo's past high school body image issues of which Shayne was partially responsible, causing Leo to still hold resentment toward Shayne. Both men still love each other despite these actions of the past. Leo has overcome most of his image issues but can he forgive? Does Shayne deserve it?

I enjoyed this seeking-forgiveness story. It takes a while for these two guys to get back to a place of happiness. There's no insta-forgiveness. The book is fairly light in the angst department, but includes a few obstacles to navigate along the way. It's a wonderful, believable and well-written story of overcoming your past, the power of forgiveness and a second chances at love.

I haven't listened to a narration by Logan Anare before hearing 'Love Me Again'. He does a great job conveying the emotions depicted by Lyda and Bates' words. I'd certainly listen to more from this narrator.

sooo good!

Leo is the shy and quiet Caldwell. He works from home; he is very introverted. He has no self-esteem. Shayne is a photographer and has traveled the world. He’s also Leo’s first real Love and broke Leo’s heart. This story about broke me, its also the one I’ve been waiting for. I felt so horrible for what had happened to Leo. I was shocked that Shayne could hurt someone so bad, especially some one he loved. This one was so good, absolutely recommend!! this was my first narration by Logan Anare, he did a great job!

Loved it

Oh my this book! I loved this book in print and OMG in audio Logan brought this book this town these charters to life for me. Logan had this tone to his voice in the book I don't know how to describe it it was like a glass of fine scotch going down your throat. I would give this book 20 more stars if I could.

Intense

This is a really intense story. Leo and Shayne as kids did things as that ended up causing Leo horrible pain. Leo even changed schools because of the incidents. As grownups Leo has to decide is he strong enough to trust Shayne again? Will Leo move away just to not have to interface with Shayne. Shayne appears as a sort of weak personality. He didn’t deal with his parents. He has a hard time with a relationship with Leo. It helps that there are a few Caldwell’s that step in. The characters are interesting. The story held my interest the whole way through. The narrator, Logan Anare brought the characters to life and the story easy to enjoy. I want to thank Gay Romance Reviews for my copy and this is my voluntary opinion.

Second chance at love

Leo and Shayne were best friends and more in high school until Shayne screwed it up. The aftermath scarred Leo emotionally for many years but he has worked hard to make changes and learn to love himself. When their brothers meet and fall in love they have no choice but to find a way to be around each other. Of course old feelings come flooding back for both. Leo has to find a way to forgive Shayne and learn to trust and Shayne has to learn to forgive himself and earn that trust. Unfortunately Shayne's parents make an appearance in this story and I have to say I hate them more than the last book. Some people just don't deserve to be parents. Overall a great story.
