In the Idaho wilderness, some battles are fought with more than just grit.

Max built his life as an outfitter in the rugged backcountry he loves—guiding hunters, anglers, and dreamers through sweeping valleys and mountains. The land is his legacy, his livelihood, the only place he’s ever truly belonged. Now Congress plans to turn his wilderness into a National Park and threatens to change everything he holds dear.

Annie, an Idaho Ranger, has sworn to protect this land—every river bend, every hidden meadow, every soaring ridge she shared as a child with her Father. She’s assigned to assess the region to determine its best use, and intends to preserve the wilderness. Her biggest problem is that the locals, including Max, don't trust her motives or the government.

At first, Annie and Max find themselves on opposite sides of a fight neither can afford to lose. Yet long days in the saddle and nights beneath a star-lit sky, fighting an unknown enemy, blur the division between them; before long, they must challenge their beliefs by fighting together for the same goal.

Saving the wilderness might mean surrendering their hearts—and discovering that love, like the land itself, is a future worth fighting for.
