Chase Regard is captain of the nearly-historically-accurate pirate ship Cupid’s Revenge, a pirate-themed restaurant and dinner show, and the mountain of debt that came with both. Red-headed Jenna is a fiery, and only occasionally forgetful, academic who loves her quirky small town. But the lure of treasure—and Chase Regard—is hard to resist. As Chase and Jenna grow closer to the treasure and each other, they are forced to contend with a town that may not want to re-write the history of Ashville and make a pirate their hero. And when accusations of theft derail their treasure hunt and their relationship, Chase must find a way to overcome the Ashville resistance and make peace before the fortune and Jenna are completely out of reach.
