Romance adventure. Author takes the time to fully ground reader in the characters and the relationship between the love interests. She wants to own a flight school and he is a dedicated law enforcement officer. Both share love of flying small planes. Soon the hints of Sandy's past bring bullets and mayhem. Readers will be invested in if and how the hero will rescue his finance from dark clutches of a crime lord.

This romance novel has action, recovery from drug addiction and a deaf angora cat. It's a clean romance set primarily at an air strip. There's alot of attention to detail about the flight process and while the story does contain some action with the drug deal scenarios, it's also very heartwarming. It is a Christian friendly storyline with clear morals.

"Love in Turbulent Air" was an engaging blend of romance, suspense, and self-discovery. Sandy Freeman is an inspiring protagonist—an ambitious flight instructor with big dreams, and her relationship with Detective Cade Onola adds a heartwarming, passionate layer to the story. But when tragedy strikes, and Sandy’s life spirals into the chaos of addiction, the plot takes an unexpected and thrilling turn. The twist with her ex, a local drug dealer, was a brilliant addition that kept me on the edge of my seat. The overall narrative was fast-paced, with well-developed characters. I loved the mix of love and mystery, and the soaring themes of resilience and redemption. Highly recommend for fans of romance and suspense!

“Turbulent” was quite a fun story starting with a normal life day to day, displacing you into a job that you might not know, with a logical business opportunity, but I would probably have liked to hear exactly how does this kind of (certainly normal) pilot training school actually stay afloat. I did find a little of the prose language old-fashioned but it was really only in one spot about 40% of the way thru. These slice of life sections slowly make way to the crux of the conflict where resolution is paced out well with real, well bantered dialogue and struggle.

Melissa did a terrific job nuancing each character’s voices into distinct beats and cadences — I felt quite engaged with the flow, but I did need to slow it down a little with the Audible controls, which appreciably didn’t affect the tone and performance cadence in any way.

terrific performance and engaging story
