Meet Trent Bailey, who is fighting for the right to continue his stellar professional football career after enduring striking legal woes in the recent past. Trent cannot and will not blow his second chance for anyone; after all, this is the blessing he's been praying for. After receiving confirmation that staying focused is all he needs, it's what he aims to do. No distractions. That's until he bumps into two unexpected overnight guests.

Jade Matthews is doing everything she can for herself and her young son, Kyree. After journeying through her own bumps in the road, she's finally getting it together. She's doing what she has to do to make sure her family of two stays afloat. Life's setbacks won't stop Jade from providing for her little one, even though she fumbles each pass thrown at her.

What starts out as a temporary favor turns into rapid passion. There's one agenda here, but getting to the same meeting point has never been more difficult. Fighting their way through trust and self-esteem issues, the two must meet in the right zone; the red zone, where you may think you're safe, but life has a way of intercepting blessings and . . . turning the tide.

Contains mature themes.

I originally read this book after exhausting all my LB options on audio. Yes, this woman made me an actual reader again because I simply could not get enough. This book was a bit different than her regular style in the fact that she built them up in the one book vs the serials.
getting to it....
I love me some TB.... Jade on the other hand, not so much. I don't like how she won at failing! she left her upper middle class house to be a hood rat and teenage baby momma, pinning her life on a dope boy, failed at that and then won by finding a professional athlete to pin her life on. She forced herself on him when he was just being a good guy helping her out. I aint saying she's a gold digger. but.... Not only that she then decides (after putting on a facade that she wants to do something with her life for herself) she just wants to be a homemaker and not go to work. She is a, manipulative liar.

**And this grievance is me being petty-- I can't stand when a man is more than 10 inches taller than his partner. it's just a waste of height and man for a 6'5" fide to be with a 5' woman.

Now I understand that Trent needs someone in his life that goes hard for him, and That's part of Jades personality, or whatever.

I'll see if I like Jade, when End zone comes to audio. I originally skipped rhat one because, Jade.

now the narration. Winston is always a solid choice. I'm pretty sure he pronounced Ragee's name wrong. that irked me.
the female narration was weird. that's all.

But overall the writing is masterful and emotion producing, I'm happy to be apart of Trents journey.

Love Belvin is the GOAT.

I enjoyed this story when I read it. Do not care for the female narrator..she performed as though she was reading directly from the book, the lisp, the emotion, did not do it for me.

I recommend this book. It’s about real issues in real relationships. I wish there was a part two.

Good read, very stimulating

I think the characters were very relatable. Jade was a little questionable when she let her child cry in the dark rather than get help. The story was well paced and full of drama. I always love to hear from the Carmichaels. This was a very good read. Trent will always be my favorite quarterback.

So many ups and downs. We are introduced to Jade and Trent in other stories so it was cool to hear how they got together. She kind of annoyed me by her actions but overall I enjoyed the storyline. The female narrator wasn’t a great fit in my opinion. It was hard to get through Winston saved the story honestly as fans we all probably wanted to get through it.
