Between ruling the night shift in the ER at the Rivers and raising her teenage daughter, Blaise Richelieu has all the drama she needs in her life. When a dashing young attending appears on the scene and relentlessly pursues her, Blaise has plenty of reasons to say no - or at least she tells herself she does, despite Grady’s nearly irresistible charm. Even if Blaise had the slightest desire to play Grady’s game, the past she’s kept hidden from everyone is a secret she intends to keep buried. What Blaise doesn’t know is the barriers she constructs make Grady even more determined to find a way through them.

It is the 8th book? Well I was happy when I saw it in my Audio and I enjoyed it just as well as the whole series. Is there another one coming to the Rivers collection?

Blaise Richelieu is raising a teenage daughter and running the night shift at The Rivers. When a new attending starts at the hospital Blaise is not ready to fall under her spell. A past they aren’t fully aware of is waiting and love may not be enough. Great addition to the series.

Really enjoyed this story about two women running from their pasts who come together in a slow burn romance. Radcliffe does a nice job of integrating other characters from previous books in the series which I enjoy. This book like the others can be read as stand alones but don’t do it. This is a really special series that I wish would continue for much longer. The ending leaves many threads open as it ends a bit abruptly. The narrator has improved- she has reduced the sing-song inflections that were tough to tolerate in previous books-

Interesting Twist-left wanting
