Sunny: It’s strange going to MIT when you’re from a big old crime family, not one of those educated snotty ones full of fashionistas either, to my detriment. But I’m done. I’ve made it through MIT with my doctorate and the family didn’t drag me back home half-way through like I expected them to. The next thing’s a job, and I’ve pretty much got that sown up too. I was smart enough to land one of the most exciting and coveted jobs around.

I got lucky just to be here, where I made friends too, Dominic and Jimmy. As we’re all shapeshifters and will be working in similar fields, we’ll probably stay friends for life. Also, you know, MIT. Also lifelong. I’m planning on it.

And then there’s the professor I’ve been in love with since day one on campus. Maybe not love, but lust definitely. My friends talk all the time about having or getting a Daddy. While they have very diverse ways of relating to that word, I have my doubts about the whole concept. My father is not a good man, not in a single way. Jimmy assures me that one thing has nothing to do with the other and so I’ve been practicing what to say and how to act around the professor just in case he’s into that sort of thing. After graduation, I think I might even ask him out.

Zane: Teaching at MIT can be rewarding in many ways. Not only the teaching job, but working with incredible minds every single year. This keeps me working hard to have something left to teach because a lot of them already know everything. Another thing feeds the ego a bit. They think I’m gorgeous, or so I’ve heard. There are a lot of pretty people on campus to gaze at all the time, that’s certain.

But there’s only one student on campus I’ve ever been interested in in all these years. Sunny. He’s not only adorable to look at, but he’s very intelligent, and he looks at me like he needs me. I’ve been looking for a boy like him, someone who’s a little lost and could use a loving hand. That’s what draws me to him, so he’s got to be different from all the other young men I’ve role played with, all from other schools. That’s why I’ve had to avoid him all these years. I wouldn’t have been able to resist.

And now he’s graduating. It’ll be sad to see him go, but that’s what has to be done. Most don’t stick around, though Sunny has a good chance of staying in Boston. I wish I knew him better. I wish I could just ask.
When fate steps in, I’m given a chance to do just that.

Loving and sexual situations. Not dark.
