At first glance, or innumerable shallow glances, there appears to be a struggle amidst light and dark. That is, our religious inclinations often trend toward understanding these two entities as being in a symbolic, or otherwise, battle.

This text feels the way, with meditations in iambic pentameter, toward an understanding of unity. With vignettes from nature and theories from philosophy, we taste all the ways that darkness and light are one.

Contemplate, with this book, the rich darkness and brilliant light. And all the shades of life in between.

The perspective from which these mediations are written is transtheism. No need for proof or disproof of God as an anthropomorphic being. Instead, a transtheist simply experiences that ambience in which we live and move and have our being. It’s not whether one believes in God, but whether one breathes in God. It is the experience of interconnectedness with others, with all creation, that is vital.
