BRIEF SUMMARY-

A relaxing escapade to Vienna unexpectedly becomes a confrontation with her haunting past back in the late 1500s, filled with a lifetime of horrific crimes, an eerie connection to a notorious serial killer, who threatens to destroy her life in the present.

EXTENDED SUMMARY-

The road trip to Vienna, a series of impulsive decisions and winding backroads, takes an unexpected turn when Sam, ever the history buff with a penchant for the macabre, proposes an idea to Chloe to visit "Cachtice Castle Ruins."

What harm can a brief detour to a crumbling relic of the past do?

As Chloe and Sam walk around the eerie premises, the unsettling feeling clings to them long after they leave the castle's shadow. That night, the dreadful visions begin; and for Chloe, sleep becomes a battleground where shadows writhe, and the air fills with the phantom smell of iron and decay. She sees flashes of elegant, cruel faces, hears the distant, guttural cries of tormented souls, and feels, inexplicably, a wet, metallic tang on her tongue. During the day, fragmented images, vivid and visceral, bleed into her waking hours – a woman in a high collar, her dark eyes glinting with a chilling satisfaction; a sliver of candlelight reflecting off polished instruments; a sense of overwhelming, predatory power.
The "eerie connection to the Blood Countess" isn't just a fear; it is a terrifying certainty. Chloe, growing gaunt and haunted, begins to research Elizabeth Bathory obsessively, finding chilling parallels between her own night terrors and the historical accounts of unspeakable atrocities. Desperate for answers and fearing for her sanity, she seeks out a hypnotherapist, Ms. Jones, a woman known for her unconventional approach to deep-seated psychological trauma. As she begins her sessions, her worst suspicions begin to solidify into a horrifying truth under hypnosis; the ones that push her to the very brink of her consciousness. The terrifying images in her mind and her ongoing dreadful visions slowly bring her to another reality, the one she was part of in her past lifetime. However, this living nightmare does not end with her awakening from the trance; it only just begins.

The past and present collide, leaving Chloe with the unbearable, terrifying burden of knowing that the monstrous soul of Bathory's close and intimate accomplice resides within her own, reborn and now fully awake to the horrors of her past unspeakable crimes.
