Fun twisty thriller!

I saw this was a new release and I like the influencer trope so I got it. It was really good! It is told by multiple narrators, Lucy, Sydney’s best friend from before she was famous, and Caitlyn, another influencer friend of Sydney’s. Lucy is not an influencer but works for Sydney. They are all on a brand trip weekend away with some others and then stuff starts happening. I enjoyed it! It was interesting and kept me guessing, trying to figure out who it was. I loved the narrators, some of the best in the business so of course it was good! I loved the ending! I will read more from Tanya Grant!

Sadly it was a disappointment

Made You Look is Tanya Grant’s debut novel, and while the premise immediately grabbed me, the execution fell short. Six influencers snowed in at a Catskills cabin should have made for a tense, claustrophobic mystery, but the story never quite delivered on that promise.

The characters felt self-indulgent, shallow, and largely unlikable, which made it hard to care about their fates. The mystery itself lacked suspense and momentum, causing the plot to drag. Several hinted-at threads ultimately went nowhere, leaving the narrative feeling uneven. There were flashes of potential, but not enough to overcome the pacing issues—and even the ending couldn’t redeem the rest of the book.

I typically enjoy multiple POVs, but here the voices blended together. I often had to check the chapter headings just to remember who was speaking.

This book kept you guessing.

You didn't quite know what was going on snd who did what until last minute. This book kept you on the edge of your seat till the last word.
