Revenge killings, gangland shootouts, brutal executions and drownings - there was no escape from the Mob's hitmen. Mafia Murders details the bloody ends of these infamous gangsters.

Since the late 19th century, the Mafia has used intimidation and worse to exert its control over organized crime. Mafia Murders recalls the 100 most important executions by the Mob. In a world where family, turf wars and crime were big business, the relentless murders of rival bosses, stool pigeons, snitches, good cops, and dirty cops became part of everyday life.

Discover the stories of the hit-men who lived and died by the gun in this fascinating tale of the American underworld.

I had high hopes. The problem is how authoritatively the author repeats all the old canards that serious mob scholars and aficionados have long since questioned and often disproven.

What is the book about? Gang leaders, fluid power structures, contract hits, likely assassins, controlling authority figures, theories and conclusions, and that just scratches the surface. The author takes an in-depth look at how prohibition impacted organized crime, intermingling with trade unions, and examines the mob's possible involvement in the assassination of JFK.

Additionally, the book opens the vast history of underground figures like Dutch Schultz, Arnold Rothstein, Whitey Bulger, Bugsy Seigel, Lucky Luciano, Al Capone, and Jimmy Hoffa. Frasca documents the turbulent St. Valentine's Day Massacre (and later, the Kansas City Massacre), the rise of fall of Murder, Inc. and the Irish Mob War.
