Good Narration

Make Me Famous by Maud Ventura follows Cleo a thirty-three year old famous singer as she recaps her life and her rise to stardom.

I could not stand the main character in this book. She was awful. A horrible person. My gosh. I listened to this and the audio was great though! It was a quick listen and the narration was really well done.

It was slow-paced except for the ending which things kind of culminated but it didn’t give really any conclusion. She was definitely an unreliable narrator. I wanted her to get what was coming to her but I don’t feel like she did. I was a little disappointed.

Fame Monster

Her books make me feel so cramped and anxious in the best ways! Just like in My Husband, it’s all about the epilogue! I instantly wanted to start over.

Another stand out by Ms. Ventura

Loved the twisted psyche of this character. So cringey yet fascinating. I have read both of Maud Ventura’s books and am already a dedicated fan.

Bored to death

I’m about halfway through book and don’t know if I can finish. I’m bored to death with main characters self congratulating and insecure behavior at same time. Is this going to continue? I thought maybe there would be some drama being on an island in the middle of the Pacific with no human contact and communication. Can someone let me know if this changes? Can’t listen to another five hours of this.
So it’s the next day about 3 hours left and I’m done! Boring!!!

Boring and repetitive

It's basically the same tone throughout the book, the MC obsession with herself. Gets old in the first hour, doesn't change in the next five.
