If psychology has no solid epistemology and metaphysics, how can it stand on its own? I do not think it can and this explains why psychology is in such a sad state today. Yet, before we can put psychology on a solid foundation, philosophy too must advance above the level of puberty. With its base in modern philosophy, even philosophy cannot stand on its own which exposes the real problems with modern psychology.
We must indict psychology by looking at its philosophical bases in Hume and Kant. We will examine this later. Suffice to say that modern psychology is based upon false premises that provide a closed door to new knowledge of the mind rather than an open door.
This book will provide a more abstract (or philosophical) look at the issue of psychological denial as it influences addiction and other moral problems. What is psychological denial? How does it affect the life of the denier and the lives of those around him? What if the denier is a person on the world stage influencing many lives and even nations? How does denial among political elites affect society in general and the entire world of human thought?
