Practical Theology for the Man Who Honors God

I wish I had been taught this wisdom by example and by precept 30 years ago. Now at 60, I am painfully aware of closing in on that moment of life when I must one day bequeath to my children and grandchildren the remains of all my striving.

Still, I find that the words of Tennyson can be both instructive and consoling to men who like me have begun to feel the chill of winter's frost:

Old age hath yet his honor and his toil.
Death closes all; but something ere the end,
Some work of noble note, may yet be done,
Not unbecoming men that strove with gods.

This book has gravitas

I could not stop listening to this book. In listening to this I was strongly encouraged to rethink the way I think about leading my household. God's reality for us is way different than the worlds. Very practical for everyday Christians looking to deepen the meaning of their lives and how to better glorify God with the gifts he gives. This is a call to action and way different than self help books. This book will challenge your reality, watch out!

Delightful but also helpful if you don't have your act together

Worth your coin if you grew up like me as a somewhat functional, clueless bastard and could not get along with dad enough to draw wisdom out of him like a dutiful son should have. God may in his Providence use this book to help you value your family more
