Traveling across Florida in a motorhome, Walker and his cat, Mango Bob, are enjoying a laid back lifestyle while trying to stay out of trouble. But trouble seems to find them wherever they go. Walker's agreed to take the lovely and recently single Doctor Joy to the Oasis Ranger Station in the Everglades. It's supposed to be an easy trip, just down and back. But Doctor Joy has plans for Walker that involve a lot more than just a drive into the Everglades. An ex-boyfriend, poachers, and a skunk ape? Ride along on another fun romp in the Mango Bob series, one you won't want to miss! Action & Adventure Cats Mystery, Thriller & Suspense Mystery

Good book

I picked up the first book, Mango Bob as an audio book since I do a lot of driving. The book was really good so picked up the next one. I liked that one as well, but then I bought the third book and instead of a real narrator, it uses an AI voice. Besides the occasional mispronounced word, there is a lack of emotional depth in the story that a real narrator brings. The story was good though so I bought the 4th book. Again AI narration. I think this kind of narration is good for philosophical books but not in the world of story telling. I am unsure if I will continue this series just because the lack of emotion in the narration just bothers me so.

Narration is not the best

Mango Bob Adventure Series:
Source: My Kindle and/or Audible libraries.
Starting later in the series, I discovered this is an interesting and fun series complete with adventures and plenty of trouble. Interesting story lines with a variety of characters, (good, weird, fun, or troublemakers), and plenty of Florida wildlife. Each book picks up where the previous book ended. I like the audiobooks since the narration by Virtual Voice brings more life to the story. Unfortunately, VV is stupid with numbers and "non-English" words.

MANGO BOB, #1, eBook -

MANGO GLADES, #4, Audiobook - Interesting with endangered panthers. 4*

MANGO KEY, #5, Audiobook - Interesting and fun-filled. 4*

MANGO DIGGER, #7, Audiobook and eBook - Let's keep the 'party' going. 4*

MANGO CRUSH, #8, Audiobook  -  Big problems and troubles. The driver was a surprise, lucky fool. 4*

MANGO MOTEL, #9, Audiobook and eBook - He never fails to do the bidding of women. 4*

MANGO STAR, #10, Audiobook and eBook - This is my last audiobook and I did not like the female virtual voice. But the story was interesting and listening fun. 4*

MANGO ROAD, #11 Audiobook - Although I have several of these earlier ebooks, this is my first book of this series. I found this book interesting, which surprised me. I like the writing style of the author, the laid back characters, Walker and Mango Bob, and the silly and dangerous stuff that W gets involved in, usually with someone else doing the directing. 4*

MANGO GOLD, #12, Audiobook and eBook - Another funny and dangerous story. Abby is a pain and Walker goes along with her. 4*

MANGO THIEF, #13, Audiobook - Plenty of humor, action, and fun. Good investigation with a couple of agents and a nurse hero. 5*

MANGO FORTUNE, #14, Audiobook - The end of the trail. 5*

Interesting and fun.

I listen to books on Audible while driving long distances all of the time. The Mango series is light hearted with a great Florida theme. However, the virtual narrator sucks. There is no infection in the voice nor are the characters distinguishable. The common idioms used in the American version of the English language are missing. For instance, when the main character went to get his gun, which was a 357, the virtual pronunciation was he got his three hundred and fifty seven. That was but one of many.

The books were great when read by the original actor. I’ve still got Mango Blue in my library but not overwhelmed by the idea of listening to it.

Hated the narration. Too mechanical. Miss pronunciations. Jilted.
Now trying to reach the fifteen word minimum.

Narrator not human. Just awful.
