In his New York Times best-selling novel Dances with Wolves, Michael Blake created an unforgettable saga of white and Native American cultures. Now in Marching to Valhalla, Blake unfolds the story of the final months of General George Armstrong Custer, a story that illuminates the epic sweep of his entire life - his career, his passions, his legacy to the American West.

Here is Custer as we've never seen him before - reckless soldier, bold lover of women, ardent husband, and devoted commander. A stirring tribute to an American hero and an intimate portrait of a brilliant, flawed man, Michael Blake's Marching to Valhalla is an absolutely stunning novel.

Struggled to finish. It got boring in places. I like the narrator very much.

ok

I think it was good but didn't really make a "landing" at the end. Sorta let me down at the end.

a good personal look at Custer's character

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. But why would you choose a narrator who sounds like he’s 100 years old! He’d have made a better Gabby Hayes than George Armstrong Custer!

Custer was 36 years old when he died

Very interesting first person perspective of Custers life. It got a but dull and repetitive in some parts, but yiu can really see how full of himself Custer was.

Nice personal view of Custer
