Seventy-two-year-old Martha doesn’t ask for much—just a sturdy floor, a decent cup of tea, and the reliable grip of her Ice-Master 3000s. But when the annual Heritage Social turns into a salt-laden gauntlet of neighborly gossip and dehydrated pork, Martha discovers that the most treacherous thing in the room isn't the black ice outside—it’s the footwear pile in the vestibule.

When Martha tries to leave, she finds her boots have been replaced by a pair of "miniature imposters." Stranded in a church basement and forced to navigate the snow in a pair of borrowed, oversized loafers stuffed with Sunday newsprint, Martha launches a full-scale investigation.

Was it "Fancy" Florence, the rival with the Italian leather habit? Or Neil, the newcomer with the suspicious amount of driveway salt?

As a "Reply All" email apocalypse divides the town and her friend Arthur is forced into the social suicide of neon-green clogs, Martha must face a hard truth: in a small town, a missing boot is never just about the tread—it’s about the secrets we keep when the sodium levels get too high.
