Hi there,

My name is Mary Linn Hasenpfeffer. I’m 15 years old. I’m in my sophomore year of school, and today is the first day of my 12th school since first grade. I hate the first three days at a new school for three reasons:

1. The new kid on the block is a target for bullies.
2. I’m not a socialite, so cliques shun me.
3. There’s always one or two who decide I’m a threat to...I don’t know what. But they have a need to show me who’s boss: them.

All I want to do is finish school in peace, maybe make a new friend, and help my mother get through the chemo and back to herself.

I made this book to share my personal journey. It started out as a guide to quash bullies but turned into a story of murder, mayhem, a father gone wonky, and being forced to live on the "other side of the tracks". The odd thing is...every twist and turn leads back to bullying in one form or another.

And the bottom line is that I need you to help with the guide. What would you have done differently? Is it one bully or many? How far will a bully go to show me who’s boss?
