Nobody said saving the world would be easy.

Until now, Max and the flock have lived a lonely existence: hunted down, tortured, and pushed to the fringe of society; always on the run, they have never been able to live a normal life. But things are changing.

The flock have finally found acceptance for their extraordinary skills. The avian hybrids don't have to hide away any longer - far from it: now everyone wants to see just what they can do. But fame and fortune always come at a price and Max isn't ready for all the glitz and glamour just yet. Meanwhile sinister forces are plotting their attack, putting more than just the flock in danger.

Something deadly is lurking in the depths of the ocean. As the flock uncover a terrible secret set to threaten the world, can they save the day or is this a disaster too tough to tackle, even for them?

It's probably my fault but I didn't realise this book was targeted for adolescents between the age of 12-16. I'm 30 and I don't usually go for Sci-fi but I thought the storyline had an interesting concept. And it did, I like the idea of kids with super powers. The problem was that there were way too many characters in this story, introduced in sequence with not much back story.
Having said that, this would be great fun for teenagers, so if audible had more of this age group members, this book would have a higher rating. I was expecting more from James Patterson, but I guess the narrator had fun with the reading. So to clarify, this book is not for adults, unless your on a road trip with your kids. Keep in mind, you'll have to explain a lot to them. Like who is who!
