A dark web mystery box. Is this real murder evidence? A tracker is found in the box. Is he coming? Is he already here? John Thomas is about to find out.

Thomas of Corinth, Mississippi, opens “mystery boxes” from the dark web for his YouTube channel DrkWb77. It’s how he’s made his living since he lost his memory in a violent automobile accident a few years back. And boy, is business good. In fact, his latest box is the eeriest yet, garnering him more attention and more subscribers than ever before.

That’s the good news.

What’s the bad news?

The contents of the box may be authentic this time, filled with illicit drugs and actual murder evidence. Worse still, John may have inadvertently attracted the attention of a serial killer. In the journey that follows, John is forced to face a past he thought he’d do anything to recover, but soon discovers that ignorance truly is (at least, in this case) bliss. Follow John's free-fall into fear and madness in this horror/psychological thriller like no other.

The story was brilliant and I found myself unable to turn it off. Not a single moment did it lose my attention. I'm torn that there isn't more to read! I can't wait for more from the author!

The narration was decent but has room for improvement. I noticed they would sometimes pronounce "indictment" correctly, but at other times pronounce it "indiktment" and consistency is key for a good narration. I don't know if this was intentional without reading the text, but I don't see how it would be.

The audio was mostly good, but for a few chapters it sounded muted and tinny. It may have been my vehicle, but after a while it went back to normal.

Overall I'm giving a full 5 stars because even though there were some issues with narration the writing more than made up for it.

Couldn't put it down
