Amateur investigator Geneva Pomolo and her partner, Iris Reeves, receive invitations to visit a new theme park on the outskirts of Wrangler’s Hill days before Christmas. Perdition Parva is built like a traditional English village straight out of an Agatha Christie novel, at the center of which stands the palatial and imposing Murder Manor complete with all the Christmas trappings. Maids and servants wander the place in vintage garb, along with actors playing stock character types from Golden Age whodunits - the headstrong colonel, the doddering vicar, the slightly barmy fortune-teller, and so on.

But when a real murder occurs on the grounds, illusion quickly gives way to reality. The victim: Stella Paisley, a high society lady notorious in Wrangler’s Hill for flashing her jeweled tiara and collecting boyfriends like diamonds. Struck down by a car in front of the manor house, she leaves behind a number of suspects - all had reason to want her dead: Mila Haskin, a medium and grifter who’s failed at everything she’s ever done; Lucas Rowley, her latest fiancé, who was making big plans with her money even before her death; Maybelina Rochefort, who lost a boyfriend to Stella; Zoey Keats, who lost so much more.

As the investigation deepens and a second murder is attempted, Geneva plunges headlong into a game of wits with a murderer who is both cunning and implacable - and shows no hesitation in wanting to make Geneva and Iris the next victims - and all before Christmas.

If you are a fan of Clue, this mystery will be right up your alley! Christmas Eve, Iris and Geneva are invited to an amusement park prior to it's opening. The night is set up similar to a Murder Mystery night, but instead of figuring out who the murderer is in the fun event, an actual hit and run takes place, killing one of the guests. Now Iris and Geneva are set to find the culprit before anyone else gets hurt! This is an entertaining listen, but one that you definitely have to pay attention to. There are a lot of characters and a lot of dialogue and you certainly do not want to miss any hints. A few twists and turns will keep you guessing til the end! A fun holiday listen right before Christmas.

Meghan Kelly has a lot to take on in this short novella, and she nails it! So many characters and she gives each one a specific voice that is easy to distinguish! It made the listen exciting and easy to keep track of! I am in awe of how she did it! Loved her performance.

A little like Clue!

A who dunnit mystery solved by Geneva and her friend Iris. They were personally invited to a murder mystery weekend at a new entertainment complex catering to amateur sleuths. A real murder occurs so the two women go about finding the killer.
Ms. Kelly does a fabulous job of voicing the characters and relating the story with enthusiasm.

Delightful

I found this story to be all over the place it took me some time to actually figure out what the plot was. Meghan Kelly did a phenomenal job but even she couldn't save this story. This is my honest unbiased review that I am voluntarily leaving of my own volition. I received this book for free in exchange for a honest review.
