Franz Kafka's profound and disturbing novella Metamorphosis was first published in German in 1915. In this recent translation by David Wyllie, Gregor Samsa, a travelling salesman, wakes to find himself "transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin". How he, his family, and others deal with this untoward situation is subsequently revealed.

Had to read this story for a college class. I understand that it is a classic and an exemplar of the early modernist/existentialist movement in literature. I found the performance to be excellent even though these type of stories don't necessarily appeal to me. Hence the 5 stars on performance and 4 on the story.
Thx. for reading!

Excellent Performance - Not too keen on modernism

This is a very well read narration of Metamorphosis. The story itself, of course, is bizarre. However this performance is excellent. I read this translation while listening and the reading was very faithful and clear.
