Widowed Michaela Strong has a soft spot for strays. It’s the reason she adopted the wolf-dog she calls Boo. Sometimes a dog is dutiful, and then there is Boo. So , when he has run off to have an adventure and ends up causing a dreadful ruckus in the woods, Michaela goes out to bring him home. The crazy dog is always finding trouble, and this time is no exception… only this time trouble comes in the form of a handsome man, lying broken in the woods.

Judson Nance just wants a new start. He’s given up his sinful ways, and with the Lord’s help, he intends to make a new start. Thirteen dead men and a stint in prison is a lot to forgive. But a badly broken leg, an injured hand, and a missing horse his new start might be delayed a bit. It’s passing strange that he’s rescued by a trio of women, brought together by separate tragedies and determined to survive homesteading on Cripple Creek.
