Miracle on Second Avenue is a short, carefully researched documentary book written in a you-are-there style that catalogs the start and growth of the Hare Krishna movement. Miracle on Second Avenue won the 2012 National Indie Excellence Award for Biography. The work is a memoir of Mukunda Goswami, one of the pioneers of the religious group that is now known throughout the world formally as the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Miracle is a series of historical events that include the movement's founder, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, and his interactions on two continents with the author over the three-year period, from August 1966 until December 1969.

This is a story that probably only Mukunda Goswami could write. Historic account at the ground level and in the midst of the creation of a global movement. My only request to Audible would be to include a PDF of the photos that are often referenced in the narration. They are an important part of the story and the listener is left a little disappointed when Mukunda describes the photo (to the listener, doesn’t seem to be part of the book reading) and we can’t see it. Still, very glad for the journey, Mukunda!

Wonderfully first-hand account of history

I don't often write reviews, but I'm compelled to write this one. There are many superb narrators in Audible productions, but I never encountered more genuine and honest narration. The author literally reads through the book, you can hear the pages turning, he's even explaining the pictures that are on the current page. He strikes just the right balance doing so and makes the entire experience very intimate and touching. The storyline is amazing too, at times it's hardly believable, it's a wonderful tale of people putting full trust in the Divine and that makes everything possible. A beautiful showcase of devotion and surrender.

The book was gripping from start to finish and I felt sad when I realized that it's coming to an end. I could listen to Mukunda Goswami for many more hours. My gratitude for making this content available, I can only give it the highest possible recommendation.

Incredible story and wonderful narrator

Hare Krishna,

This is a beautifully written and narrated first hand view of Makunda Goswami and his role in starting ISKCON in the 1960's. I fell in love with everyone in the book and have an even deeper understanding of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and the profound love he had for the movement and his clear vision that he carried forth. A wonderful read, I finished in a few days because I could not put it down.

What a beautiful story
