You probably won't like my story. Heck, I'm not sure if I even like it myself. Between getting burned at the stake and being drowned, almost twice, it's quite a lot to swallow.

I'm not sure where it all went wrong. Everything was going fine my freshman year of college as a history major. I had a full-time job as a paramedic and any girl I wanted was mine. When tragedy struck our family, I found myself in France with my sister, Jules. And she just had to touch that mirror. She had to get us transported to the middle ages. 1155 A.D., to be exact. What. The. Hell.

So this is the story of how I bedded a queen and married a poet, all to end the family curse. My name is Guillaume, but you can call me Gill, and despite what you hear, this story is all my sister's fault.

Not my normal genre that I read. Could not stop listening to it. The story line is intriguing, the main characters a brother and sister. The narrator does an awesome job. Can't wait to read the next book.

I was wondering where the story was going as it is short (a little over 3 hours) until I realized this is just volume 1. Be prepared for a cliffhanger. :) Volume 1 is primarily focused on character building so you learn a lot about Gill in the modern day and his sister. In he last hour of the book you get to finally hear about the time travel back to 1154. The story left with a good cliffhanger and has me wanting to get volume two! Great narration and realistic characters.

Great narration and detailed story about a modern day young adult man

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a bit slow at first, but picks up and stays at the faster pace for the rest of the time. The narration is well done. There IS a cliffhanger ending, though. At only a couple hours long, this made it feel very unfinished to me. Due to a slow start and a cliffhanger, I was left kind of frustrated and unsatisfied. The overall story is good and I'm interested enough to continue the story if given the opportunity.

feels unfinished to me

Just as I was settling into this story, it ended. More. Please.

I am loving Gil and Julia and the France of yore that they found themselves in. The groundwork for a great adventure with some seriously likable main characters has begun. Next!!!!!

The narrator was excellent. He captured Gil's nonchalance and youthfulness so well that as a parent of a teen, it made me cringe. It was great!!

I can't wait for the next book in the series.

More please!

You start out with a guy named Gill who is a EMT going to College Majoring in History. He is a bit of a Jerk at the start of this Short Story. He has a sister, and his Mother is originally from France. He and his sister, starting at young age were sent to France to visit Anut & Uncle.
The end of this story Definitely leaves you wanting more of the story. Narrator does a good job on this Story.
