Kireth is an immortal, a mischief-maker, carved from stone and given life by the goddess. Faela, a poor peasant woman with a dying farm, summons him to help fix it. Though Kireth is bound to complete one hundred tasks for her, he will interpret them how he pleases—even if it means causing trouble.

But there’s more going on at Faela’s farm than a simple girl trying to maintain it alone and failing. The crops are withering, the fences breaking, the house falling apart, and not even Kireth knows why.

As he starts to fall for the sad girl with the fierce heart, he decides to pursue the truth, even though the answer might tear them apart.

This is a steamy monster romance novella with a fairytale vibe about a troublemaking immortal with a capricious nature, and the steadfast farm girl who wins his temperamental heart. There will be bargains with gods and consequences from the past, with a guaranteed HEA.

A surprise tear jerker at times. A really felt for them by the time they actually got together.
A touch confused in the epilogue timeline, as if it were an afterthought (don’t talk about her growing old and getting wrinkles and THEN say “let’s have kids”). It might have been better to skip the epilogue and after the wrinkle line then have a bright young voice say, “Hey Grandma, come look at this egg Henrietta laid.“
But overall a very good read.

Cute and heartfelt
