On the one hand, when executing search warrants, the author had trouble finding stuff—often missing the bloody knife or the muddy footprints. On the other hand, he taught police officers and new agents at the FBI Academy, wrote speeches for three Directors, and used misfit leadership principles with his FBI squad to solve major terrorism cases. And he did it before the Internet, cell phones, and electric cars! In short, he was a misfit FBI Agent.

Excellent leadership lessons - and funny!

This was a joy to listen to. Gladis includes a number of really wonderful leadership lessons, all wrapped in engaging and hilarious stories from his time in the FBI. I re-listened to some of my favorites and found myself telling many of these stories to family and friends. The section overviews do a great job of recapping the most important lessons to draw from the book. Gladis's self-effacing and down-to-earth writing style made this an easy book to listen to. Highly recommend!
