Emily Brown had moved to New York City after a painful breakup. A librarian by trade, she hoped that a job at the main branch of the public library would help her make a fresh start. But life in the city was lonely for her, even at Christmastime. As the holiday approached, she encountered Tim, another lonely soul, who had moved to the city in pursuit of a better job. But neither could overcome their fears until something magical came into their lives.
Miss Brown’s Christmas is a story of overcoming adversity, healing old wounds, and appreciating the people fate puts into our lives. It also offers a unique view of Christmas beliefs and traditions. This is the second Christmas-themed novella by Robert A. Valle.

Robert Valle, the author, once again captures and delivers on the magic of Christmas by highlighting the traditional and unique view of beliefs and tradition. It is a very short story but one that everyone who listens can relate to. It touches on healing, relationships, overcoming heartbreak and sorrow, as well as having faith in others and oneself. Valle’s writing style is simple yet powerful. His dialogue is down-to-earth. His characters reflect real-life situations and emotions. His writing provides hope and comfort.
The narrator, Luke de Maine not only provides unique voices for each character but also reflects the emotions of each with subtle tonal inflections. He speaks clearly and with energy reflective of the story and situations. His performance brings the story to life.
Although it is well past Christmas, this is a book for all times as a reminder that there is hope, compassion, and love.
