In 2023, the author unexpectedly immigrated to Poland; remaining so to be close to his young son. Alone and without support, he was overwhelmed, navigating the family court system and forced to learn a new language. Driven by love and curiosity, he became an English teacher, connected with bilingual families, and supported global language learners online.
The author began this collection of poems to capture the lessons from this journey, but they began to connect to the universal need to connect, be understood, and communicate. Over time, these poems, and their accompanied recordings, became a tool for language learners-sparking recorded responses, encouraging practice, and fostering genuine communication. These exchanges enabled the sounds of those needing to connect to be felt, heard, and understood, supporting everyone's goal to, without barriers, communicate.
