This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.

On the eve of his fifth birthday, the long-anticipated heir of the Darcy family disappears without leaving the slightest trace. While his parents sink into inconsolable grief, fate bestows upon the Daltons the son they had long yearned to cherish.

Years pass, and the boy—now a man of honour and sensibility—believes himself complete when he finds in Elizabeth the woman of his heart. Her love brings him peace and joy, and he imagines his happiness beyond compare.

But shadows of the past cannot be silenced forever. Secrets long concealed return to disturb his tranquillity, revealing a truth that threatens all he holds dear. Between two families, two names, and two destinies, he must confront a reality he is not certain he has the strength to accept. And yet, only love may guide him safely through the storm.

Good storyline, good
writing and original story! Every recommendation. I usually like every Miranda Flan story. Didn't mind virtual voice.

Good variation

I have enjoyed all of the books by Ms Flan that I have read. She has imagination…gasp…and the courage to forge her own path in these variations. I personally don’t understand why anyone would want to read the same story over and over again: however, I do like the characters and I applaud an author who places them in a different setting.

The virtual voice wasn’t awful. There was one chapter that was kinda wonky. There were even moments that had some emotion. I generally don’t listen to stories told this way because they are so flat; but then, I have listened to books read by a real person that were equally flat. At least I didn’t pay for this.
